Faith Youth Incorporated (FYI) is Faith Lutheran Church’s youth group for 7th-12th graders. FYI holds monthly events and also participates in ELCA Synod events throughout the year. This year has been a productive, fun, and spiritual year in the lives of our youth at Faith. We ventured to Six Flags in August, went miniature golfing in September, and prepared homeless dinners in the winter. The calendar sales helped fund our retreats and participation in Synod events. We also awarded Sara Herbst the Faith Founders Scholarship to assist in her continued studies at the University of Virginia. We hope to grow the youth program in 2009 both in the number of youth and type of program.

Synod Youth Events (2009-2010)

There are some important Youth Ministry dates in 2009 and 2010.

• Shekinah 2010 - Metro DC’s Synod-wide retreat for Confirmation / 7th & 8th (March 19-21, 2010)
• Shema, an afternoon for children in 3rd - 6th grade (tentatively scheduled for April 25, 2010)
• Dates for Chi Rho 2010 will be set later this summer
