Picture you and
your friends, exploring one of the many caves in West Virginia; sailing
on the Chesapeake Bay with a group of friends on a clear sunny day, or
learning to snowboard on fresh powder in the mountains of Pennsylvania.
Those are a sample of the kind of exciting activities done in Venturing
Crew 143. Faith Lutheran Church Council has recently approved the
conversion of Boy Scout Troop 143 to Venturing Crew 143 in order to
continue the 65 year Scouting presence at Faith.
Venturing
is the teenage (14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20
years of age), coed program of the Boy Scouts of America. The teenagers
choose, plan, and run all of the activities. Brochures that explain
more about the Venturing program are located at information central
within Faith Lutheran Church's Fellowship Hall. Or, view the web
site at http://www.scouting.org/venturing/.
Please contact Ralph, Scoutmaster (PQLUND@earthlink.net / 703-575-8095) or John, Charter Organization Representative (john.cubbison@mac.com / 512-680-3563) to join, volunteer or to find out more information. Adults and parents are
encouraged to participate, as we are looking for volunteers and
leaders.
